1. Log In

First thing first, you must log into your admin panel to perform this task. Go to http://www.yourwebsite.com/wp-admin and you will see this page. Enter your log in information here and proceed.

2. Click on Gallery menu on the left panel and then click on Add Gallery / Images. This is what you will see. You must select an existing gallery before you upload your images. If not, go to step 3.

3. If you do not have an existing gallery then Click on the Add new gallery tab and type in your desire gallery name.

4. If you want to manage your existing galleries, click on Manage Gallery and you’ll see this page. Click on one Gallery to start editing its settings. See step 5.

5.After step 3 and uploading your images to your designated gallery, you’ll see this page.  Give each photo a proper title if you wish and double check all the thumbnails are correctly crop. You can hover your mouse over to each image to edit its settings. After you are done and okay with your modification, click on Save Changes.

6.Apart from galleries, NextGEN also have Albums. It allows you to better categorize and display your images and in an album/book form versus showing all images in gallery mode. Click on Album inside Gallery menu and you’ll see this page. You can type in your album name inside Add new album and click Add.  After you are done, click on the drop down menu and select a album you want to edit from Select album.

7.  Once you have select an album you want to edit, you’ll see this page. Drop and drag the gallery(s) you want into the this album in the far left that contains the title Album ID #. Click update after you are finish.

8. It is now time to edit your page. Create a page and start adding your galleries and albums to it. Make sure you click on the icon that is circle in red. That is NextGEN Gallery’s shortcode button. After you have select an option it’ll output the codes like the ones here.

9.  After you click on the shortcode icon, you’ll see a popup option window. If you want to display your Galleries just click on the drop down list and click Insert one gallery at a time. You can display your albums and do the same thing. Make sure you press Enter to give them enough space to display correctly.

10. Once you have updated the page, click on Preview to see if that is the result you want. If it is, click on back on the page and press Publish.
